Strengthening TB and HIV&AIDS Responses in East Central Uganda
STAR-EC is a five-year district based program funded by USAID to increase access to, coverage of, and utilization of quality and comprehensive HIV&AIDS and TB prevention, care and treatment services within East central districts health facilities and their respective communities.
The program covers nine districts in East Central Uganda that include Bugiri, Iganga, Kaliro, Kamuli, Mayuge, Namutumba, Namayingo, Luuka and Buyende. All together a population of about 3 million people is being served in this region (approximately 9% of Uganda's total population).

Safe Medical Circumcission (SMC)
Health facilities are increasingly being supported to scale up SMC services in the East central region through training SMC teams which is being done in collaboration with Makerere University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP), followed by logist support to the trained team to offer the service. More >>
